The Role: 

The Merchant, Enterprise- Rocksbox plays a key role in creating and implementing product, pricing, and promotional strategies to drive store success across our Rocksbox store fleet. This role is dependent on the ability to translate store insights, product selling, and platform data into actionable recommendations for stores. They will drive performance through effective strategies, ensuring brand alignment to meet or exceed targets for store performance and account growth. This is a brand-facing role that will work collaboratively with internal partners (Merchandising, Design, Marketing) at Rocksbox.

The Merchant will work collaboratively with our Platform Performance, Visual Merchandising, Store Design, and Retail Success teams. This role is classified as L4 and encompasses all competencies associated with this level.

Core Responsibilities:

Merchandising Strategy & Planning

  • Develop store-specific merchandising strategies and recommendations that leverage brand and Leap Platform data & insights to continuously maximize store sales.
  • Collaborate with and influence brand partners to continuously optimize assortments ensuring localized product mixes tailored to store-specific demand.
  • Support new store openings by establishing store specific strategies and building the initial assortment in partnership with Rocksbox HQ
  • In partnership with finance, develop and manage accurate inventory forecasts based on sales trends, historical data, market insights to optimize stock levels by store
  • Monitor competitive landscape and retail trends to inform assortment strategy
  • Drive standardization and enforcement of Leap Merchandising policies to maximize brand success.

Inventory Management & Logistics

  • Oversee shipping, receiving, and reconciliation of inventory shipments.
  • Strategically balance inventory across the entire store fleet, leveraging store-specific performance data and localized demand insights
  • Manage inventory levels in Shopify to ensure real-time accuracy between physical store stock and Shopify POS to prevent stock discrepancies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Drive clear internal communications for store execution of Merchandising strategies.
  • Lead product portion of quarterly business reviews by preparing performance recaps and strategic recommendations that influence both brand and store behaviors.
  • Participate in key internal and external meetings to drive store-level insights, performance, and feedback.

Outcomes & Measures of Success:

  • Brand & store-level financial, operational, and in-store experience KPIs consistently achieved.
  • Successful management of inventory breadth and depth across stores to maximize sales and minimize out of stocks.
  • Clear cross functional communication with internal and external stakeholders to understand product recommendations and updates
  • Deliver high quality work and collaboration with brands that result in positive NPS results and brand contract renewals.

Salary Range Transparency:

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. All corporate roles are eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
