Here at LEAP, we are always on the lookout for dynamic and entrepreneurial Area Managers to build out top performing stores in the San Francisco market. This individual will be responsible for driving sales and profitability through their associates in each store whilst ensuring excellent customer service is consistently executed.

The Area Manager will have a thorough understanding of the retail environment, be able to create and maintain a positive work atmosphere, and possess outstanding leadership and communication skills.
They will guide the teams not only to provide exceptional shopping experiences but be the liaison between the brands and our customers.

About Leap:

The Leap platform launches and operates insight-driven retail stores for modern/emerging brands with better performance and less risk. Among the trailblazing brands we work with are: Marcella, Little Words Project, Pact, ThirdLove, True Classic Tees and many more. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a minimum of 3 dynamic volume store locations (collectively 2mil+ annual) while working out of and directly managing 1 of the 3 stores.
    • This position requires 4 days in your stores and 1 remote office day per week
    • Must be willing/able to support any retail category including but not limited to: intimates, home, sweet treats
  • Support all aspects of New Store Openings in your market; hiring, training, events, visual merchandising, inventory/back of house
  • Actively attract, hire, develop and fuel a talent pipeline for all retail store positions in support of the cluster and brand(s)
  • Support Store Managers on establishing strong staffing models and store schedules to meet business needs
  • Ensure presentation of all displays, fixtures and visuals are reflective of our brand
  • Monitor the movement of all inventory to ensure that staff adheres to all shipping/receiving policies and procedures, and meet inventory shrink requirements
  • Utilize business acumen and leverage sales data to ideate, create, and manage action plans to drive topline business. Adjust business strategies when needed to achieve profit & loss results
  • Cross-collaborate with the Retail Operations team to forecast and manage potential changes with leasing calendar, brand rotation, etc., to keep up the flow of operations between brands 
  • Be a champion for the brands in your cluster by sharing insight on product knowledge, competitors, and trends
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • 5+ years of direct management experience with a background including retail/customer service
  • 1+ years managing multi-unit or big box retail
  • Maintain an active floor presence, including standing and walking for extended periods of time while on the job
  • Comfortability using a ladder and lifting a maximum of 50lbs

Measures of Success:

  • Drive sales goals through Key Performance Indicators: Conversion, Average Order Value (AOV) and Units Per Transaction (UPT)
  • Employee Retention Rate: Ability to hire, develop, and promote team members within and outside of cluster
  • Client Engagement - Net Promoter Score, Events/Activations

Salary: 83k-87k
