About the role:

Leap is looking for a Growth Analyst to support priority growth initiatives and analyses as the company scales at a rapid pace across new markets. This individual will serve as a key contributor to the successful growth of the company, working to analyze, underwrite, and execute strategic growth initiatives. The role provides a unique opportunity to evaluate and partner with the leading brands of tomorrow – emerging consumer brands with compelling value propositions and passionate followers in a range of categories (i.e. apparel, fashion, home goods, beauty and more) - while also learning how high-growth venture-backed businesses are built by working from a multifaceted growth position within the organization. 

This individual will be in the center of our Business Development, Real Estate, and Growth Operations teams working on strategic analyses and projects that lead to growing the number of stores on the Leap platform across new markets while analyzing potential deals and pitching new prospective customers. This will involve underwriting and negotiating new store contracts while developing a proficient understanding of consumer brand P&Ls and retail real estate to make smart decisions on behalf of the Platform. Additionally, this individual will work on generating new business while building Leap's Business Development flywheel. This individual will be rewarded on merit and results and be positioned to take on a more significant growth role after 12-24 months.

To succeed, this individual will need strong communication and analytical skills, while working dynamically with a range of both internal and external stakeholders. This is the right role for a strategic thinker with previous success driving results and demonstrating innovation, critical thinking, and collaboration, who likes to lead from the front lines and has the desire to play a critical role in building a high-growth Platform company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support strategic growth workflows including underwriting new prospective locations, brand proposals, contracting, and pipeline analysis 
  • Underwrite and help negotiate new store contracts while being a primary user of our new location underwriting model and developing a proficient understanding of consumer brand P&Ls
  • Help drive strategic growth initiatives to enable rapid, healthy Platform growth including new market analysis, go-to-market strategy, pricing strategy, client-facing collateral, and case studies
  • Iterate and utilize the company's core underwriting model to project potential financial scenarios for the business as we evaluate new potential growth opportunities
  • Utilize business acumen to analyze and explain Leap's business model and how to cater it to interested prospective brands in the Platform
  • In partnership with the Marketing team, develop and iterate proposal materials to support demand pipeline opportunities

Our ideal candidate has: 

  • 1-3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Consulting, Investment Sales, and/or a financially focused role in a high-growth company
  • Strong business acumen or finance background and ability to navigate financial documents 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and working style – self-starting, highly accountable, strong ability to anticipate problems and define and implement effective solutions; strong desire to win; high output
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as proficient hard skills in Powerpoint and Excel (i.e. able to get into an economic model or create a pitch deck without guidance)
  • An interest in understanding emerging retail brands, real estate, and the future of retail 
  • High-degree of intellectual curiosity with exceptional work ethic, attention-to-detail and a can-do/will-do attitude
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving startup working environment

Outcomes & measures of success:

  • Gain expertise over Leap's business model and underwriting practices to successfully create materials to win qualified opportunities and grow Leap's footprint 
  • Develop an understanding of the inner workings of consumer brand P&L's and how Leap's value proposition can resonate within respective target customer segments
  • Support the Business Development and Real Estate teams to increase efficiencies and quality of output both internally and externally
  • Implement underwriting and analytical practices to better evaluate new growth opportunities to more efficiently align the organizations supply and demand at scale
  • Contribute to the development of a team-oriented high-performance culture within the company
